Hebrews Chapter 12 verse 2-3 says take heed my brethren lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily while it is called today lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
If I were to leave you with a thought, it would simply be: we're becoming too lax. If we're honest with ourselves, we're becoming too lax.
Exhort means to strong encourage or urge someone to do something. This word is not just for the congregation, this word is especially for the preacher. This message is not to judge or condemn anyone amen, but to consider how we're living for Jesus Christ.
When we first get saved, we're on fire for Jesus. We come to church every time service is held, go to prayer meetings and attend Bible college to learn the word of God.
We become zealous for Jesus to the point that our family members even ask us why you going to so much. We tell people about Jesus to the point that when they see us, they turn around and Walk the other way. Bible tracts of all kinds are on our person and we hand them out at every convenience.
Many of us were on drugs and alcohol but the Lord took the taste away. Many of us were sick in our bodies but the Lord took the sickness away. Some of us had criminal records and couldn't get a job but the Lord made a way to earn living.
God has done many things for us to confirm that he is God and besides him there is no other.
As time goes on, we begin to miss service. One missed service turns into another missed service. Because no one is really checking up like on you like that to ask why you haven't been to church, you continue to miss service.
Although personal accountability is required, we continue to slack off on Jesus. The Lord has truly delivered us from the snares of the enemy but we act as if God didn't do a thing.
It's important to realize that God didn't have to save us. He could have allowed us to die in our sin and go to a hell prepared for the devil and his demonic angels.
Jesus didn't have to shed his blood on the cross for the sin of the world. He has power to lay his life down and power to take it up again. But the grace and mercies of God has given us another chance after his death, burial and ressurrection.
So If we're honest with ourselves, we have to admit that we're becoming too lax. We I first got saved years ago, the church house was packed. Ushers were everywhere, security everywhere and the pulpit was full of preachers.
Overtime, some things have taken place within the body of Christ, and so things are not the same as they once were.
One thing about God is that God doesn't change. He's the same yesterday, today and forever more.
Aren't you glad that God doesn't change? Aren't you glad that God doesn't do us the way we do him? Even in my backsliding, God's grace and mercies was still upon me. How can you not serve a God like this?
The Bible says in the book of Jeremiah, with love and kindness have I drawn thee. God didn't deliver us from sin so we could go right back into sin. He delivered us from sin to give him the glory. He delivered us from sin to give him the praise. We are to show forth the praises of him who called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light.
We become lackadaisical with God and wonder why it seems as if God is lackadaisical with us. When things in our lives don't go right, we expect God to move in a hurry. And when God doesn't move when we want him to move, we backslide. This doesn't please God.
2 Corinthians 13:5 says Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
We know that reprobate means a depraved, unprincipled or wicked person. That's a reprobate individual.
We're becoming too lax. The most important meeting in church is prayer meeting, how many of us show up? Perhaps a better question is how many men show up.

Sin is deceitful. Sin will have you thinking that you're good with God and that the Lord will overlook your sin. Departing from the living God is a sign of an evil heart of unbelief.
We're living in a time where anything and everything is creeping in the church. Politicians, who are not saved, are in the pulpit, lying to the people to collect a vote. As soon as they collect the vote, they do nothing for the people and you never see them again for another four years.
Earlier I said this message is especially for the preacher because the preacher is the one ministering the word.
Lackadaisical attitude doesn't please God, it pleases the devil. A lackadaisical mindset can cause us to drift and eventually fall away from God.
A lackadaisical believer is not an effective believer because whenever you need them to come to church functions and activities, they never show up.
Don't become too lax. Watch your life, guard your faith.
Give the Lord a praise. Amen.
