"I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily." 1 Corinthians15:31.

Death is a word that frightens people. Yet, it is a word that has to do with every living thing, including human beings.

If those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, fear death, should a Believer be? I think the answer is "No!" A Believer in Christ knows the truth about life and living. He should understand all things about death. So, the sting of death does not influence him, no matter what happens.

Understandably, death is a gateway to life. Everyone will put off his mortal body, and corruptible house to put on an incorruptible body with which to live eternally.

Now what does, "I die daily." could mean? Or what does Apostle Paul say?

In summary, it could be translated to depict the truth that he daily engages in detaching himself from the flesh and its deeds to be more attached to the Spirit of God.

The need for daily death becomes inevitable because the flesh always works at cross-purposes with the Holy Spirit. The flesh is from below but the Spirit of God is from above. The goal of the two are different. Therefore, whoever is going to live for Christ must die daily to the flesh and its works.

"Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.
For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." Romans 8:12-14.

Sowing is reaping. Those who so to the flesh will reap corruption. Whoever does not want to reap corruption must not down to the flesh. He must die daily until the flesh is finally crucified and nailed to the cross for the Holy Spirit to reign supreme in his life.

May you receive the necessary help to die daily in the flesh and live totally to the Spirit of the Lord in Jesus' mighty name. The Lord is coming soon, be prepared to meet Him. God bless you.
