"Fulfill your work, your daily quota, as when there was straw." Exodus 5:13(b).
The above-quoted verse of the Holy Bible is the words of the taskmasters to the people of God, the Jews, in the land of Egypt. This was the beginning of their freedom. To God be the glory that He manifested His power and they were set free
Beloved Pilgrim, do you know that there is a great lesson to learn from the words of the taskmasters?
Every Believer in Jesus Christ has Him as his Master. He does not want any of His own to be lazy or idle. He was not lazy or idle when He was walking on the surface of the Earth. That is the reason He said, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work." John 9:4.
The day is meant for human beings to do their work, it is God's design. The night is for other creatures to find their food.
A rich man was asked about the secret behind success. His answer was, "Work for twelve hours per day." He recommended twelve hours of work. This can be right. Another thing is that planning must not be left out. What do I mean? There are lot of work to do which must be planned. What are the things to do? These must be carried out one after the other progressively.
Each day must be for specific assignments. Each task for the day must be accomplished to achieve the desired results both in the short and long runs.
God, the Father had given us a pattern to follow. He spent six days to create Heaven and Earth. Each day was earmarked for different works, in their order of importance. He did not allow the work of a day to slip to another. He accomplished the work of each day as He desired and planned. He planned His works and worked His plan. The result was that He saw everything He created to be "very good". Please, pay attention to the truth that He had the power to create all that He created in one day but He decided to spend six days doing it. On the seventh day, He rested from His works.
Beloved, although you are not under taskmasters and you will never be in Jesus' mighty name, you must be able to put yourself to task for meaningful results to take place in your work and destiny. Give each day of your life its quota to be fulfilled and ensure that you do not disappoint yourself and your Master, Who wants you to work when it is day before night comes when you will not be able to work. The night is for you to be a time of rest, although there may be a variation depending on the nature of work and circumstances. However, a day remains a day, and ensure that you fulfill your daily quota of tasks for the glory of the Lord your God. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
