The Lord our God never changes. What He has done, He is doing and He can do again and again. As He was, so is He and so He will be forever.

God attends to the needs of His people in various ways. He met the needs of His people by feeding them with strange food in the wilderness which they never knew.

"The Israelites were puzzled when they saw it. “What is it?” they asked each other. They had no idea what it was. And Moses told them, “It is the food the lord has given you to eat" Exodus 16:15

God's provision may bring some puzzles. He may provide it in a way a man can never think or from a source that can never be imagined and at a time not expected. It may be expected tomorrow and He can provide it today. Meaning that He can provide for His people earlier than expected. He does new things in new ways that may be strange to them.

"These are the lord’s instructions: Each household should gather as much as it needs. Pick up two quarts for each person in your tent.” Exodus 16:16

The Lord loves His people and delights in giving them instructions for their benefit and to know whether or not they will obey Him. That is to test their obedience. Following the instructions of God has great advantages too numerous to mention. Obeying them is central to having success.

"So the people of Israel did as they were told. Some gathered a lot, some only a little.
But when they measured it out, everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed." Exodus 16:17-18.

The Lord is only interested in meeting the needs of His people and not their wants because they are insatiable and will be wasted. The Lord is an excellent resources Administrator. He hates wastage. He keeps His provisions safe to make them of value anytime.

Whenever there is a leftover, He commands that it should be preserved for use some other day( Exodus 16:26).

One weakness of God's people is that it is difficult for certain of His people to do exactly what God asks them to do. They love to doubt or put Him to the test. This happened when Manna was provided for them. Those who left a quantity until the following day lost it to worms but when the Lord commanded that it should be gathered and prepared for the second day, nothing bad happened to the leftovers. The will of God must always be done daily.

Beloved Pilgrim, the Lord has Manna for you. Only make your request known to Him and He will meet your needs in the right way and time. Remain blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
