Father Abraham's declaration reveals the content of his heart when he describes himself as a "stranger and foreigner" among the children of Heth. He did not see himself as such only, his way of living displayed that he saw himself as a stranger and foreigner on the Earth, which belongs to the Lord his God.

He passed on this belief to his son, Isaac also. At a point in time in his life, in the evening of it, he had an assignment to perform which he should not delay. This discloses the content of his heart in respect of his being a pilgrim.

The assignment was to bless his beloved first son, Esau. He said to him, "Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Genesis 27:2 King James Version, KJV.

Do you know that it is not only Isaac who did not know the date of his death? No one knows it.

As a Pilgrim on the Earth for a season, he did not want to delay any action to a later date when it was in his power to do it as a living being. He was aware that the moment he gave up the ghost, there was nothing he could do. That was the reason he acted promptly, although he ended up blessing the wrong person due to a fault not his own.

Beloved, as a Pilgrim on the Earth, do not put off until another day what is in your power to do now or today. No one has control over his expiry date. Therefore, be up and doing without any delay. May the Lord give you a long life and prosperity to live a joyous life to fulfill your God-given assignment in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord is coming soon, prepare to meet him.
