Do Not Destroy The Bridge

A bridge is a bridge and it comes in various forms and sizes. One of the major assignments of a bridge is to be a link between two different places that have been separated by anything that makes it very difficult or impossible to cross over to the other side.

In human relationships, some words and actions create dangerous gaps between two close persons. The gap may exist forever if care is not taken. Do you know that when this happens, close friends may become sworn enemies whose behavior will be like that of a cat and mouse?

When this happens, there is a need for a bridge to be constructed to fill that gap for a good relationship to be restored. The name of the bridge is Forgiveness. When a wrong comes up from one party to another, it can have a great negative effect if forgiveness is not employed with love.

Forgive so that you will be forgiven.
This comes in two ways: one, as a human being if someone offends you today, you should forgive him. The reason is that you may do him a wrong tomorrow, knowingly or unknowingly. If you fail to forgive him today, you will have destroyed the bridge by which you will get to the other side where you will get the grace to continue in the relationship.

Not only that, forgiveness is the bridge by which you will be able to approach your Creator, your Father in heaven after you have transgressed His commandments. If you forgive others their transgressions, you enjoy forgiveness from Him.

Beloved, as the year rolls by, do not carry loads of unforgiveness into the new year twenty-twenty-four. Eliminate all wrongdoings done against you. You will not only have peace of mind, but you will clear the way for your forgiveness from God and man. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.

Scripture references:
Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 6:14-15.
