Lord Or Master?

Let me ask you this question: "Have you paid attention to the fact that the way you perceive an object will determine how you will handle or deal with it?" The samesame goes for your fellow human beings.

Using certain women's discussion one day, they describe a husband or man as a "handkerchief", "a bag", "a foot mat", "a car" "a load carrier, and so on. The question now arises, "Will these women treat their husbands in the same way?" You know better!

Do you know that the same applies to the spiritual? Let us limit our discussion to the "man in the season" of Christmas, Jesus Christ. How you see Him will dictate how you will relate to Him. This will reflect on how you treat His commandments or instructions. How you see Jesus Christ will influence your total relationship with Him.

What do I mean?

Let us consider the responses of His disciples during His Earthly ministry. He declared that one of the twelve disciples close to Him would betray Him, all of them but one, Judas Iscariot, asked, "Lord, is it I?" Jesus did not point to any of those disciples.

On the other hand, the chosen person to betray Him, Judas Iscariot, alone asked, "Master, is it I?". The Lord's answer revealed him as the person.

Judas Iscariot never saw Jesus Christ as his Lord but as his Master only. He saw Him as Someone who had something to teach, after all, he had the Pharisees and the Sadducees as examples of masters. They had doctrines. He saw Him and limited Him to a level a little higher than their days' teachers. A follower with a difference. He was more interested in the proceeds of His rewarding ministry, no more!

He did not see Jesus Christ as the Lord of all and that of his life. To accept Him as the Lord is to surrender all to Him. To see Jesus Christ as the Lord is to be willing to do only what He instructs to please Him only and at all times.

To see and accept Jesus Christ as the Lord is to bring your all under His guidance and control. Doing this must be without hypocrisy but with the fear of the Lord in his heart. Openly and in secret, he will always assess himself to make the right decision. When an opportunity to do evil comes, he will say to himself and anyone who cares to listen, "How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" The fear of God in the heart of anyone who sees the Lord as He is will not allow him to do contrary to the Lord his God.

Beloved Pilgrim, how do you see the Lord your God? Do you accept Him as the Lord or the Master? Let Him your Lord and your Master and you will feast from such glorious combination.

In the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as recorded in chapter thirteen, verses thirteen to fourteen, the proper arrangements of the two words were brought out by the Lord Himself. The verses disclose,
13:13 "Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet." John.

Jesus Christ recognized that He was called Master and Lord. Pay attention to how He rearranges the two words as Lord and Master. He is the Master Who teaches with authority and not like any other masters in the land because He is the Lord before being a Master.

How do you see and accept the Lord your God? Do you see Him as one of the Masters or do you see Him as Master and Lord? He wants you to see and accept Him as your Lord and Master. It is when you have surrendered all to Him that you can "come and learn at His feet"
Watch and remain prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
