The Pharisees challenged him, “Here you are, appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.” John 8:13 NIV
Jesus did have witnesses. First there were all the prophets who foretold of His coming. Did the Pharisees read the scriptures, or just chose to ignore the prophets? Secondly, what about John the Baptist. They saw him in person but chose to ignore his teaching and message. Third, what about the works which Christ performed? No one else could do all which Christ had done in their midst, yet they chose to ignore that as well. There also were a few times when the Father audibly spoke with others around Jesus. Just something else for the unbelievers to ignore. So, Jesus was not alone in speaking on His behalf.
