Losing Your Life

For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. Matthew 16:25 NIV

We hear of people losing their lives, meaning that they died. But there is another way to lose your life, and that is to forgo living your life for the things of this world but instead living your life for the advancement of the kingdom of God. This is called dying to oneself. The one who chooses to save his life wishes to live for things of this world. But our time here on earth is limited. There is eternity that awaits each of us beyond this life. Where shall you spend eternity? Your body may be buried in a grave, yet the soul lives on forever. Where shall it reside? I pray that it be spent in the presence of the one who saved us from an eternity of torment. God created us to live with Him forever and provides the answer for that to occur. The answer is Jesus Christ.
