Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24 NIV
Denying oneself is not something which comes easy. We are constantly bombarded with suggestions to fulfill our earthly desires. But doing this is not what God asks of us. How can we be of service to our brother and sister and to kingdom work if we are focused on ourselves? The more we seek for ourselves the larger the appetite becomes to seek for even more for ourselves. None of what is of this earth will leave this earth with us. It is left behind as we move on to our eternal residence. Live in the peace and joy of being Christ centered and know that your eternal destiny is with Him in heaven.
