“Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.” John 6:34 NIV

I believe with this request the people were beginning to realize that the food Jesus was speaking of was not just mere food for the stomach, but they certainly did not totally understand what He meant. Do we always seek the bread that provides nourishment for the soul? Probably not. We at times feel we can provide for ourselves. Until we can totally let go and let Jesus provide, we will never fully understand Him as being the bread of life. There is no other true bread of life. It only is Jesus Christ.
