A Servant's Idea And Provision

No man is useless, I think. Let me also state that everyone is useless. It depends on where you are useful and where you cannot be of use. This is the case with a servant.

Something happened before a person becomes a servant, most especially in a household. He must have been helpless. However, the status did not take away his potential from him.

A wise Master will explore the values of his servant.
This was the case with the first king of Israel, Saul.

Before his ascension to the throne of the Kingdom of Israel, his father sent him to find a lost donkey. When going for the search, he took along a trusted servant.

Both searched for the donkey for days without having an idea of what happened to it or where it was. Saul has exhausted his patience. He was ready to go back home.

A wise counsel from his servant brought hope to him again.
[6]But the servant said, “I’ve just thought of something! There is a man of God who lives here in this town. He is held in high honor by all the people because everything he says comes true. Let’s go find him. Perhaps he can tell us which way to go.” I Samuel 9.

Saul did not conceive the idea but the servant. He considered it good but he lacked again what he could give the man of God. Again the servant rescued him. With,
[8]“Well,” the servant said, “I have one small silver piece. We can at least offer it to the man of God and see what happens!” 1 Samuel 9.

This took the two of them to the man of God, Prophet Samuel. It was on that day it was disclosed to them that the donkey had been found and his father was then worrying about Saul and the Servant. No mention of the servant's name was made in the Holy Scriptures but his work still speaks today.

On the same day, it was revealed to Saul that he was on his way to becoming a king, the first of its kind in Israel. This came to pass.

Now, assuming the servant did not come up with the suggestion and the provision, what would have happened? Although God had alternatives He chose to use the servant for Saul.

Beloved, will you allow the Lord to use your servant to fulfill His purpose for your life? He has what you lack that you need. Allow him to be used by God for your good. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
