There are ways of dealing with a servant. These suggestions put forth to a king by experienced people in the palace will be of use and bring great benefits for you and your household.

After the death of king Solomon in the old kingdom of Israel, his son became a king. Now, the people came to complain about payment of different types which had become a burden too much to bear.

That was the source of the consultation.

[7]'The older counselors replied, “If you are good to these people and do your best to please them and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your loyal subjects.”
[8]But Rehoboam rejected the advice of the older men and instead asked the opinion of the young men who had grown up with him and were now his advisers." 2 Chronicles 10.
The three-point mentioned by the aged and experienced people are these:

A. Be good, ie be kind to him. Your servant deserves your kindness. He is also a human being like you. How do you feel when people are kind to you? Let him feel same from you regularly. Happiness will bring the best out of your servant.

B. Please him. You need to please your servant according to your ability. You have no reason to do what is beyond your ability for yourself, husband and children. So the same holds for your servant. Please him according to your ability.

C. Favorable answers. Let your answers to his questions be always favorable.
Speak good words to him. This will energize and bring good results from him.

Let it be stated here that these suggestions have not annulled discipline, correction or chastisement. No! These can be done with moderation and caution.

These will breed loyalty from your servant. You will be proud of him and he will also speak graciously of you everywhere. These will bring out the treasures in him for the glory of God in your life.

Although, king Reho oam rejected the counsel of the experienced people in his palace, he paid heavily for it. He lost ten out of twelve tribes which formed the nation of Israel.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
