Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:6 NIV
We know how we were born of the flesh. But how does one have their spirit be born? We were all born into sin. Sin surrounds us, it is part of our nature. The human was not born in the spirit at physical birth. The birth of the Spirit requires a change of the heart. We cannot of our own create the birth of the spirit. It requires a rebirth and comes from outside ourselves. The Holy Spirt gives birth to the human spirit. The Holy Spirit must indwell one for the human spirit’s rebirth to occur. The rebirth of the human comes only through God through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
