 Not-To-Do List                  Jane H. Young

Have you ever thought of making a Not-to-do-list? Get your ever so important To-do-list out and see how many things you can move over to a Not-to-do-list. The fact is, there are many things we feel we must do that really are not worth cluttering our time and minds with. Simplify your list by getting rid of those things that are just time wasters, and those that fill your life with stress.

Completing a to-do-list should not be  the main purpose of your life. Don’t miss understand me, there are things that need to be on that list, for instance, time with God, your family, your job, and your health.

Choose what is a real priority in your life, put them in order according to their importance — then stick to those choices.  Don’t be tempted no matter what your to-do-list says, don’t keep unimportant things on it. In fact, take those tempting activities and put them on a list of things not to do. Your time is very important and you are the only one who can assume responsibility for how you manage it.

“A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing. Ecclesiastes 3:5 NASB

“One hand full of rest is better than two fists full of labor and striving after wind.”  Ecclesiastes 4:6 NASB

Don’t over extend yourself with a list that takes every waking minute. You will see your life as a blur years from now, because you were to busy to enjoy any of it.

God expects us to assume responsibility for our lives and to carefully choose how we spend our time. The number one thing on any to-do- list should be seek God first to see what’s on His list for your life.

“Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.”
Isaiah 40:31 NASB
