What price those precious words!
The biggest jewel from God's own crown.
The diadem of mercy given to me.
This treasure multiplied for all to have.
And we, empowered by love and spirit, are now the ones to speak them out,
To every captured, weary soul that needs and wants to hear.

What a wonder to be set free!
To be forgiven fully;
not bound to sin;
not owing debt to God, nor man nor priest.
To have a will that's free at last to worship,
now that it's found the only object worthy.
Forgiven! a life once trashed now given back to me.
Forgiven! full of joyous tears, a soul that only now can live.
Forgiven! energised within by grace above.
Forgiven! We can now behold the loving Face that speaks this word to us.

We will celebrate! - but not today.
There is a war, and we're on spiritual rations until that feast.
When we come home, we'll do it then.
Not just with cakes and beer and drums,
But with our own forgiven hearts stripped bare of pain and guilt.
Today we slowly dance in broken darkness,
Soon we will dance ecstatically in full light.
Led by our Father rejoicing over us in His song of forgiveness;
And our Brother, will lead us, like David before the Ark.
