Num 11:4 And the mixed multitude among them lusted lust; (Literal Translation)


They lusted a lust,

Their craving was wanton.

Lust was consumed by itself.

The desire was paramount,

The demand to be gratified.

Lust for food, lust for gold, lust for sex, lust for gods that are not gods.

Gods lusting for themselves transfer that lust to those they want to enslave to themselves.

Glorying in lust, lusting for glory, lusting for lust and the glory of lust.

These gods of lust disappear in dust as soon as we bow before them.

They crumble to earth as soon as we have climbed their giddy precipice to look into their faceless images.

Man what have you become that you should be the victim of lust and desire only it?

The lust of the eyes - that see only to possess.

The lust of the flesh - whose flesh is not flesh that stands, but melts with desire.

The lust of pride - the insatiable lust of a right to be immortal and to be worshiped - at least by oneself.

Self tries to assert itself as the only one god, but is god only of one.

There was One who came into this lustful world and showed a way that conquers lust.

The way of truth, of righteousness, of a life within that transcends the lustful self and defeats it,

Not in suppression... but in purity;

Not in denial... but in life: new life, true life, eternal life, divine life, overcoming life, The life of Christ in us.
