What to Expect After Death

It's true that Christians have eternal life with Jesus in Heaven. But it's also true that every person has eternal life in some state or another.

If you believe and trust Jesus Christ with your immortal soul, you will live forever with Him, in Heaven immediately and later in the New Heavens and New Earth, in a glorified, perfected body that will never die. Far from being a boring place where everybody floats on clouds and plays harps, Heaven is a beautiful, rich, exciting place, full of joy and opportunities to learn and work and best of all, be with God.

However, if you have not trusted in Jesus and accepted His death as payment for your sins, you also will live forever, but it will be in Hell. Yes, Hell is really a place, as those who have died without Jesus Christ can testify. You will have a body that can withstand burning forever in the Lake of Fire without being consumed, but feeling all the pain, separated from God for eternity. There will be nothing but darkness, burning and pain from which there is no escape. Don't expect there will be a party with all the "interesting" people from history. Each will be alone, trapped forever in his own misery.

There are only two destinations possible: Heaven or Hell. It's your choice which one you go to when you die. Turn from your sin, cry out to God and accept Jesus' death as payment for your sins, and you will immediately be with Him in Heaven the instant you die. Or reject Him, trust your own self-sufficiency and refuse His gift of grace, and you will be instantly transported to Hell the moment you die. There are no second chances after death, and no purgatory. Your only opportunity to choose is while you are still alive on Earth. Choose wisely.
