Love is patient, merciful and kind,

Love can bring hope to the hurting and blind,

It fills you with joy and delights your soul,

It heals an empty heart and fills up every hole,

So love one another and be kind to all,

Love every person, whether important or small,

For love never tires, it will never grow old,

There is nobody too imperfect for love to take hold,

Be gentle and generous, for love does share,

Love enters the struggle, no burden too heavy to bear,

Love is a lamp, it lights up all around,

Like a gentle breeze or sweet melodious sound,

For love is too much to comprehend,

Its mercy and kindness has no end,

It does not envy or hate or steal,

There is no relationship too damaged for it to heal,

For love is the very nature of God poured deep into your heart,

A treasure, a light, more beautiful than any kind of art,

For it was in love that Christ came and died for you,

And in us God’s love can now shine out anew.
