My Comfort

I remember there was a time, I used to find my comfort in food. Every time, I was encountered with a depressing situation, all I could think of was "get food and gulp it down". It never crossed my mind on how unhealthy I was adjusting my mind and body to that pattern of living. All I wanted was to get rid of the pain at the moment. My mind was filled with depressing thoughts that I couldn't even realize that I needed to come to the presence of Jesus to be comforted. All I had to do was ask Jesus to take control of my situation and remove the thoughts that suppressed me instead of trying to handle it myself. The answer was right in front of me. JESUS!!!

Over the years many of us have encountered such difficult situations and have given up. We couldn't find comfort in families, friends or anyone for that matter. But we try to find comfort in food and other things that could destroy our health drastically. It just seemed nearly impossible for a turnaround of situation. Let me tell you my friend, with God all things are possible. He can turn around the situation in a blink of an eye and some miracles take time. But during that waiting time, God will give us the joy, peace and comfort we need to stay grounded in Him. All we need is to ask the Lord to come and take control. Open your heart out to Jesus an spend time with Him. Lay every burden down at His feet. Don't carry the burden instead let Jesus carry it for you while you experience His love, hope, joy, peace and comfort in Him. Honestly guys, past few months was a very difficult time for me and family. I lost my dad to liver cancer and we never had the time to say our goodbyes, following that my mom broke her hand and had hairline cracks in her thigh bone which made it difficult to walk for sometime, and my family dog passed away. I couldn't breathe for days thinking of all that happened. I felt my heart would swell up and burst anytime. I would cry placing a pillow over my face so that no one would hear me. But in spite of all that, God comforted me with His love as a Father. I wasn't alone, Jesus was with me. Even now at times, I would get flash back of everything that happened and I would feel my heart racing. But I know Jesus would calm me down. Even though, I can't see Him face to face. I would feel like He's holding me and sometimes I feel or have a vision of me lying on His lap and pouring my heart out to Him like a child.

Jesus loves us so much. He gave His word in John:16:33 - "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” He will grant us the peace for us through all situations and not only that He will guide us in the way to go. He will be the light to our path, beacon of hope, eternal love and unspeakable joy. Come to Jesus and lay all your burdens at His feet!!! You are not alone. Jesus is there for you!!!!

I just want to add one last thing here. The Tamil song above has such beautiful words. It says," Comforting God, how delightful is your Holy presence". Taste and see for the Lord is good.
