But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.(Matthew: 6:33).

“Old habits die hard”. Many know the meaning for this saying but for those who don’t know. It means, when a person is used to a particular habit for a long time and it’s hard to stop it. For example: I moved my toothbrush and toothpaste from one place to another. Everyday morning, I go back to the same place I used to keep it before and again after brushing my teeth, I do the same. This is just an example of a particular routine that I used to follow. My mind subconsciously works in that way. Today morning, as I repeated the same action again, a question came to my mind on, “Are we making it a habit to read the Bible and Pray to God everyday. Are we making it a priority”. Honestly, it is a weird place to have the Holy Spirit question you and it is a very much valid question.

We are so used to the busyness of life and as a result of that, we tend to push away seeking God or try to fit God in our schedule. Is that even right?

Let me share something with you. Seeking God first and making it a everyday routine was taught to me from my childhood by my mom, Sunday school and even at school. There was no escape from that. Just kidding. To be honest, I have slid back numerous times and my mom would keep reminding me constantly on how important it is to seek God above all things. When we give God his first place, we inherit so may blessings from God.

When I used to work, I had crazy shift timings. I hardly got to see my family. But I made it a priority to SEEK JESUS FIRST no matter the rush I was in to leave for my shift. While I did this everyday, I used to see so much difference in me and around me as in ” The fruit of my time with Jesus”. I would experience so much peace at work place, respect and favor given to me from coworkers and bosses, quick decision making and solution management and protection while I travelled at 4 am in an empty train as a woman…the list goes on.. At first I thought, I was experiencing all this because I was lucky. But my thinking was wrong, It was Jesus’s presence with me. He sheltered me, gave me wisdom to handle things, gave me favor in the eyes of my coworkers and bosses, gave me clear mind and peaceful environment to work. Above all, I felt the father’s love. He blessed my salary so that I can support my family. Guys believe me, I witnessed so much goodness from God. I have no words to express how I felt during that time. It was my first job, I was nervous but He guided me in every way. God is so good. His love has no boundaries.

I encourage you all to find Jesus early in the morning before you start your day. Pray before you leave your house for work or anywhere. Pray before you start your work and ask God to bless the labor of your hands. I am sharing this as a witness of His goodness. I experienced His move over my day. He handled everything for me and blessed my path. He removed what was unnecessary out of my path and placed clear tracks for me to walk on. You can experience all that too. Search GOD FIRST, MAKE IT A ROUTINE and see the FRUITS OF HIS BLESSINGS fill your life in every area.

God bless you.
