Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”). John 20:16 NIV
Well, this man knew her name. And with this the veil was lifted from before her eyes, and she knew deeply within herself that this was Jesus standing before her. I am sure it was not just that He had said her name, but He said it in a very loving and caring manner, no longer wishing her to feel the grief of thinking her Lord was gone for good.
Jesus speaks to those who are His by name. He wants us to have a close relationship with Him. He is the One who can provide that which no one else can provide. Listen to the Lord call you by name.
