So What Did He Believe?

Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) John 20:8-9 NIV

So, if the disciples did not understand that Jesus must rise from the dead, what is it that John believed once he saw the burial cloths? I believe he thought that something miraculous had happened but just wasn’t quite sure as to what it was that did occur.

Do we realize that with Christ in our lives, the miraculous is possible? God knows what is best for each of us and does provide for our needs if we keep Him in our heart and follow His will. It is difficult for us at times as we can’t see what God can see. We just must place our trust in Him, and He most assuredly will provide.
