Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. John 20:6-7 NIV

And what were the thoughts of Peter as he looked at the cloths and also noticed that the linen which had been over the Lord’s head was separated from the remainder of the cloths. No mention is made of the two men speaking to each other, so maybe each of them was secluded deep within their own thoughts.

Notice also that Peter went directly into the tomb. This certainly symbolizes the mannerisms of this man. Peter certainly was not timid, except for admitting to being a disciple of the Lord when he had been questioned the evening before the Lord’s crucifixion.
