So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. John 20:3-5 NIV
I wonder what John’s initial thoughts were when he looked inside the tomb and saw the strips of linen lying there. And why did he not immediately enter the tomb? Did he maybe realize that something amazing and sacred had happened in that tomb? We do not know as he does not speak of his initial thoughts.
Do we feel sacredness and holiness when the Lord is in our presence? Hopefully the answer is yes. The Lord provides for all of our needs. Let us feel the wonder and awe of His presence surrounding us.
