Two Different Conversations

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” John 18:36 NIV

I hope you see by now that there are two totally different conversations going on here. Pilate is dealing with that which is of this world, the trial and sentencing of a man. To the contrary, Christ is speaking of that which is beyond this world. First, He wanted to know what is in Pilate’s heart, and here He speaks of a kingdom which is not of this world, stating that if His kingdom was associated with this world that His followers would defend Him to the end.

Have you noticed that prayer time is so much more rewarding when you are on the same page as the Lord? The Holy Spirit directs us to that which is of Christ. Listen diligently and follow in the steps of the Lord.
