over many areas of life and if it doesn't touch on specific details of life then you can usually discern the truth on a given matter by studying Biblical principles.

We should be reminded that this command came before man fell by sin so that it was God's will from the very beginning that man work and fulfill his calling under God.  Later after Adam's transgression the curse brought frustration to this aspect of man's life. 

As a young believer I had the mistaken idea that work itself was a curse but while dining with some brethren one day I was corrected by these men and told that work was actually a blessing and a command that came before the curse resulting from man's disobedience to God.

The command to work was repeated under the leadership of Moses and given limits by God "Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work.

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:"  Exodus 20:9,10

Thus being a workaholic and working 7 days a week would appear to be a violation of God's will because he wants each of us to rest one day in seven even as God himself worked and created everything in six days but rested the seventh day as an example for us to follow.

In the New Testament we discover that the apostle Paul writing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit taught:

"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."  2 Thess. 3:10

So it is very clear in the Bible that God's will is for everybody to work and unless you work you should not eat.  By work we receive wages by which to buy food.

One reason many small businesses today are having trouble finding willing workers is because the government is paying people to sit at home and do nothing which is a wicked idea and not according to God's will.

Sloth or laziness

God's word encourages us to seek out gainful productive work and to avoid slothfulness or laziness which are not a characteristic of the Christian life.

We are told in Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

"Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest."

The idea of the idle rich has always been a despised element in America especially among the Christian community.

Hear what the godly Puritan preacher Thomas Brooks wrote:  “By doing nothing men learn to do evil things. It is easy slipping out of an idle life into an evil and wicked life. Yes, an idle life is of itself evil, for man was made to be active, not to be idle. Idleness is a mother-sin, a breeding-sin; it is the devil’s cushion – on which he sits; and the devil’s anvil – on which he frames very great and very many sins"

When you look around the world at the evil global elite whose material wealth is measured in billions of dollars you should consider how much time they have to plot their demonic totalitarian schemes for their NWO One World Government. They have a great deal of time because they do not have to work.  They've made their wealth unethically because of financialization and insider trading thanks to their friends at the Federal Reserve that Beast created in 1913 to transfer wealth from the middle class into the hands of a select few globalists. 

These will all be judged and damned who loved not the truth but whose works were evil and in disobedience to God's laws.

Sex, Marriage and Children

Is it lawful to remain single or celebate you might wonder?  If you are married should you have children?  The Bible has the answers to these questions also.

God's original mandate to Adam and Eve was to be fruitful and multiply and this was first given to a married couple whom God brought together and blessed.

The 1689 Baptist Confession has the following to say about marriage with several

pertinent Bible verses as proof texts.

1. Marriage is to be between one man and one woman; neither is it lawful for any man to have more than one wife, nor for any woman to have more than one husband at the same time. ( Genesis 2:24; Malachi 2:15; Matthew 19:5,6 )

2. Marriage was ordained for the mutual help of husband and wife, for the increase of mankind with a legitimate issue, and the preventing of uncleanness. ( Genesis 2:18; Genesis 1:28; 1 Corinthians 7:2, 9 )

To remain sexually pure a man or woman is to marry so as to avoid fornication or sexual immorality according to 1 Corinthians 7:2 "Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."

In verse 8 the apostle Paul says "it is good for them if they abide even as I".

Paul was most likely a widower at the time of this writing but presumably he had been married since he was a member of the Sanhedrin and marriage was a prerequisite.  Now he said it was good to be like him, i. e. single with one exception which is found in verse 9 "But if they can not contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn."

By remaining single and prolonging marriage as I did for many years you put yourself under unnecessary temptation and thus may make provision for the flesh.  By doing so you violate God's commands and so put yourself under God's judgment for uncleanness.

The apostle Paul teaches us in his letter to the Romans 13:14:  “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

Also the apostle John writing in Revelation says:

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Children are the normal outcome of a healthy marriage so in my view if you do not wish to have children then you need to rethink the purpose of marriage.  Marriage helps insure a godly seed.  Ofcourse not all married couples can have children due to fertility issues but such can avail themselves to pray and other proper measures to see if God may allow them conception.  It is no sin of your part if you try to have children but God shuts up the womb. 

If we are living in the last of the last days then knowing God's sovereignty He may not choose to have his children multiplying as in the past because he knows it will be a tremendous burden on them during the coming tribulation.

"Woe to those who are with child in those days" Matthew 24  may come into remembrance.

I recall a church member of the OPC Orthodox Presbyterian Church once telling me that he and his wife decided not to have children.  I thought this peculiar so I asked him why he didn't want children.

His reply kind of shocked and surprised me.

Since not every child born to pastors or Christian parents will be saved as experience and scripture have proven you might, he said, bring a child into the world who was not one of God's elect or chosen of God to salvation and then they will perish in hell forever.

That Calvinistic thinking didn't sit well with me because it appeared this man was trying to pry into the secret will of God. 

True many PK's (aka pastor's kids) or children born to Christians might not become saved but that I told this man that did not nullify the command to be fruitful and multiply nor did it do away with the fact that children are seen as blessings in scripture "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: And the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; So are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: They shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."  Psalm 127:3-5

Furthermore since I have changed my theology and believe in annihilation after a careful and thoughtful study I do not believe anybody including infants or children will be punished with eternal torment.  That apparently was this man's worry or concern which if the nature of hell is properly understood will undermine that false belief and give comfort and peace to those who might wonder if by having children their children will ever be saved.

The Bible has much to say about friends and relationships such as do not become friends with an angry man

"Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go."  Proverbs 22:24

Do not make companions of fools- Proverbs 13:20

"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."

Do not seek to be rich- Proverbs 23:4-5

"Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

⁵ Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven."

Love- We are to love our wives as we love ourselves and we are to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind.

"So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself."  Ephesians 5:28

"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself." Luke 10:27

Fear-We are to fear  God and keep His commandments and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil."  Proverbs 16:6

If you wish to know the will of God just keep studying the Bible and researching out what God's word says about the subject in question.

A peace and comfort comes from knowing you have an authoritative answer from God and so let God be true, but every man a liar.  Romans 3:2
