There's Life or Death in the Power of Words

This is what happens.

Before we begin to properly understand what’s at stake, a Master Plan has to make sense to us first. We're unique. We have a destiny by which--just you or I-- are to follow and walk.

Of course, the road may be hazy. Oh, how we always wish, it’s easy and smooth. But, earth is keen on making human existence of all sorts far from dreamland. Too many turns. Too many distractions. Naysayers ganging up on you. Like Wacky Races’ Dick Dastardly’ s, ‘You’ll never maaaake it!’

So much noise telling you what to think and what to do about most part of your earthly map on which way to take on.

Words take their strides, too. Words reveal powerful meaning and serve their instructive purposes. Words do trail us to their appointed mileposts, where we, knowingly or carelessly speak them to ourselves-- either to kill or to give life.

In life’s walk, we face bridges. Well, because, no man’s an island. We want to make a bridge to connect to another human being—to understand what they feel, and what they think. Snooping at their business isn’t what I mean building bridges.

We connect to loved ones because we sense that they’re afraid of expressing feelings of sadness, grief, fear, anger and shame. Unfortunately, they distance themselves from us to protect themselves from us. Because  we behave like judges and sentinels of virtue-signals. We, ignorantly, torture them in hellfire on earth they want to escape from.

Their feelings of apprehension intensify, like the waves in the sea. A listening ear with non-judgmental response refreshes the weary mind, body and spirit. Enough quiet patience to help them work their feelings out by themselves. Speak words of encouragement and comfort. Because it’s the better move towards the right, dry and higher ground.

When we sense someone is hurting, we want to listen, not preach. Lecture sends them off. When they're trying to make sense of their circumstance going out of control, we want to understand with a clear mind – not gaslight -- not to dismiss what’s bothering them.

Every human has a designed Master Plan of destiny. Are we to help them in their path God sees to do for them to reach? Or, must we always police their theology and beliefs, just because theirs are different from ours? And that, we have ‘a better idea’ for them about God’s direction for them, in which, God had already put in their hearts? Are we, most of the time, getting in the way of God’s destiny for them?

So, what happens when we’re entrusted the power of words? Do you let down yourself to the trail of nowhere? Or, instead, speak to yourself into blessings and healing meant for you for the taking—to the path of life in full measure?

Do you remember Moses’ words, ‘Choose life!’? There’s a mighty lesson to learn from that.

Grace our words to bless ourselves and others. Be a wonder-maker in the lives of others by reaching and walking the path of life in the fullest joy.
