but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. John 14:31a NIV

The evil one comes to attempt to conquer, and yes, Christ would die, but He did not die because of the evil one. No, Christ died because it was the Father's will for Him to do so as a ransom for our sins. If Christ had not died, we would all be lost in our sins and doomed for an eternity spent cast out of the presence of God. God loves us each so very much that He offers us salvation and reconciliation through His Son, Jesus Christ. We must however accept this offering. It is not forced upon us.

Jesus obeyed the will of the Father. Now accept that which is graciously offered. Eternity in God’s presence lies beyond the other side of acceptance.
