Encouragement
Report Article
Isaiah was one of God’s messengers during the time of captivity by the Babylonians. Through him God encouraged His people and assured them He had not forgotten or abandoned them.
To remind the people of God's kindness and compassion in the past, Isaiah wrote: “In all their suffering He also suffered, and He personally rescued them. In His love and mercy He redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years (Isaiah 63:9-NLT).
This is not a God who is far away, sitting above it all, uncaring and aloof.
He is a compassionate God who suffers when His children suffer, rescues them when they are in trouble and carries them through all the diffcult times of their lives.
He is a God of love and mercy and grace.
Our Father God promises to be with us, to help us, to care for us, to provide for all our needs. He is always faithful and always keeps His promises.
In times of trouble we cannot always see what He is doing, but looking back we see that He did help and care for and provide for us all the way through. We see that, in His wisdom and love, He knew and did what was best at exactly the right time.
If we want to see and understand what He is doing in our lives, we can ask and He will show us. He promises this too.
Jesus said: “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened (Luke 11:9-10-NLT). And so we ask and seek and knock and He answers and shows Himself and helps us understand.
Our Father God is kind and compassionate and He never changes.
He is a personal God who has created each of us to know and love Him in a unique and beautiful relationship that will last forever. He will do whatever it takes to help us trust Him, depend on Him...love Him.
Our God is always faithful and good. He reminds us of how He acted in the past, He encourages us to trust Him and tells us we are never forgotten, never abandoned.
