Gifts are wonderful things. When we receive a gift that has been chosen specifically for us, we feel special and accepted and loved. We choose gifts for others to please them and express love and devotion.
God’s gifts are so much more wonderful.
He offers a life of freedom and peace and joy.
His gift of love is so overwhelming, so indescribable, so amazing.
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
(James 1:17-NLT)
Everything good we have, all the good we do, whatever wonderful, beautiful things we see around us are gifts, blessings from our Father God, perfectly suited for each of us and for His purpose.
Our wonderful and wise Father God chooses gifts unique to each of His children. Gifts to be accepted, unwrapped, used and enjoyed. Gifts that help us know Him and love Him more. Gifts that we can pass on to bless and help others.
Accepting God’s gift of life and love through Jesus is the first step.
After that comes a lifetime of discovering, opening and enjoying the gifts He gives.
Learning how to use the talents and abilities He has given to do good.
Enjoying His amazing and wondrous blessings.
Waking up each morning anticipating what He will do to show His love, to help us get through tough times, to surprise and delight us.
Then finally we receive the ultimate gift of life with Him forever in His eternal Kingdom.
All of God’s gifts are perfect and He loves to give them to His children. He also loves to see us use His gifts to do good for others.
