Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me. Psalm 59:1 NIV

We are in a continuing fight against evil. If you do not believe this is occurring, you might want to question your fervor in following the Lord. Satan is constantly in attack mode, using every weapon available to steer us away from following God.

Do you ever feel like you are grinding it out in the battle? Do you ever wonder if you are being successful in carrying out your work for the Lord? Do you ever feel like giving up? Don’t ever do that. It is just what Satan seeks.

At times of struggle, we must turn to our Lord. He is our fortress through all the battle with evil. Christ is our refuge. The one who provides salvation to us also is the one who helps us when we feel we are failing. In our weakness Christ’s strength is made abundant in us. God will provide all the strength that you need. He will protect you and dress you in His armor. Just as David slew Goliath, so, in the Lord we shall see the defeat of evil.

We must pray for those who are our enemies. Yes, pray for those who seek your demise. Ask the Lord to show them the wrongness in their ways. God can touch hearts in ways that no one else can touch. Ask God to destroy your enemies’ evil intentions and deliver them from their wrong doings. With God everything is possible. So, do not try and fight the battle on your own. You can’t win the battle on your own, nor were you intended to see evil fall before you on your own. Evil falls at the presence of the Lord. So, go to Him. Ask Him to be your fortress, a fortress that shall stand forever.
