Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved human praise more than praise from God. John 12:42-43 NIV
Before we point a finger at those who believed in Jesus, but would not publicly proclaim it, we must ask ourselves if we ever compromise following Christ in order to receive approval of man. I am sure many of us have had times which fit into this manner. We must beyond all seek the approval of God. Seeking any approval of man must be secondary, and not contradict the approval of God.
