Lord God,

I thank you for blessing me with money,

And that you are always faithful in providing for my needs,

I thank you for also giving me the means to earn a living,

And I pray that you would help to keep working hard,

So that I can support my own needs and the needs of my family,

Please help me to keep trusting you as my provider each new day,

As you continually provide for all of my employment and financial needs,

But Lord, so often I am tempted to just hoard up all of my money,

And ignore those around me in need,

So please challenge me to be generous in giving,

Even to the point where it is sacrificial for me to do so,

Build in me the willingness,

To tithe regularly at church and give to my brothers and sisters in need,

Not simply because it is the right thing to do,

But because it is something I am eager to do for your glory,

Please also grant me wisdom,

As I consider the many wonderful causes and missions that I can financially support too,

But Lord, teach me to also be open to more spontaneous opportunities to be generous,

May I find the opportunities each day to bless people each day through my money,

Such as through paying for the lunch of a friend,

Or buying a gift to celebrate somebody’s birthday,

Or offering to host people for an event at my home,

Or through any other small acts of kindness to others that require a monetary cost,

Lord God, ultimately my money belongs to you,

And I pray that you would make me a good steward of what you have entrusted to me.
