Having Infirmity, Adorning Humility & Maintaining Dignity

The blessed example of the healing of a Leper as mentioned in Mark 1:40-45 is really blessed to read.

In 5 verses the entire incident is narrated and concluded.

Being a Leper, for sure he was out casted from the society, yet seeing his body decay and his life slowly ebbing away, when he saw Jesus, he probably tried his last hope for healing.

The way he approached Jesus was somewhat in this manner:

Being aware of his infirmity,

Adorned with all humility,

And approaching with all dignity.

We need to be aware of our infirmities and shortcomings and care never to give room for pride in our life, but with all humility, let us approach the Lord God, with all His dignity-for when we come to God in prayer-let our hearts be filled with faith and expectations for all blessedness.

The Bible says….….

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

The Bible says that … Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” (Mark 1:41-NKJV)

And the Leper was healed.

Jesus strictly warned him  and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone”, However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places; and they came to Him from every direction (Now Jesus literally had to become an outcast-to stay away from the fame-for all were now trying to reach out to Him because of the testimony of the Leper.)      

How simple, easy and quick was this miracle, because I believe that the Leper had the perfect sense of his infirmity, was truly adorned with all humility and looked up faithfully to God’s dignity.
