Anoint Me And Appoint Me Lord

Lord anoint me and appoint me to be one of Thy ‘sent’

Who would carry Thy ‘Good News’ to those who are lost,

‘Alienated from God’, as on evil they are bent,

 Bless them Lord with the joy of the Pentecost.

Eternity for them has no value at all,

And the truth of Thy Word is as fables they see,

Anoint me with Thy power to preach the Truth,

A Truthful servant Lord help me to be.

Serving the ‘mammon’ is their motive in life,

They want to relish and cherish in the worldly pleasure,

O how they have been blinded from the precious truth,

Lord help them find in Thee their real treasure.

Silver or gold and none of the corruptible things

Can ever save them from eternal death which is sin’s wages,

But the precious and flawless blood of Christ alone,

Can lead them to the bliss of eternal ages.

Lord anoint me and appoint me to this precious vocation,

To be faithfully spent where I be sent,

A new person in Christ may all be found,

And none should be lost to the evil end.
