Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” John 11:24 NIV
Do you detect maybe even the slightest bit of disappointment in Martha’s response here? The eternal certainty of being raised to life is not questioned by Martha. But what about the here and now? What about living for now without her brother being alive? We can live in hope of our future to be spent with God, but what about how and what we live for now? Are we only to live for our future with God?
We can rest assured that our belonging to Christ has not only to do with our future being with Him forever. As we shall read on to see, our present is also with and in the Lord!
