He Will Rise Again

Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." John 11:23 NIV

The words of Christ here cannot be taken to exclude the thought of physical restoration for the man in the tomb, though they do tend to lead one to think about the raising of the body to resurrection on the last day. Christ chose these words intentionally to lead Martha’s thoughts and comments to the truth of the eternal resurrection and not to the return of one to mortal life. The Lord was leading Martha to the sacred truths and not worldly truths.

When Christ speaks to you do you at times think in worldly terms instead of spiritual terms and the ability of God? Of course, we will at times do this. It is only natural. With Christ expect the unexpected. With Him there are no limits to that which can be done.
