Lord God,

Today was another terrible day,

Where it seemed like everything that could have gone wrong went wrong,

Everything that I set my hand to just ended up being a failure,

And I felt like I couldn’t do anything right,

Even when I tried to stay positive,

I just ended up becoming more disappointed and frustrated,

As I reflect on today, Lord,

I confess the many times when I failed to honour you,

I ask for your mercy for doing things that I was not supposed to,

And I also ask for mercy for failing to do the things I was supposed to,

But I also acknowledge the many frustrating events of today that were out of my control,

And that sometimes life just throws me one curveball after another,

Lord, please grant me your comfort and strength,

As I come to terms with the hardships of today,

Please help me to set aside my recent disappointments and failures,

And to keep turning my eyes to Jesus, who truly understands all of my weaknesses,

Help me to lift up to you all of my worries and anxieties about how tomorrow will go,

And teach me to know your peace as I sleep tonight, finding rest in your caring arms,

For tomorrow is another new day,

When the sorrows of today will be in the past,

I know that tomorrow morning your grace and mercy will shine anew,

By your strength I will be able to pick myself up from where I have now fallen,

And step into the challenges of a new day,

With renewed hope and confidence in you.
