Lord God,

I thank you for giving me this ministry opportunity,

And that today is another wonderful moment to be alive and serving you,

But with this wonderful privilege also comes a heavy responsibility,

And no task done for you should be treated as insignificant,

I also acknowledge that I can do nothing without you,

And without your help, all my efforts would be in vain,

So as I prepare to serve you now Lord,

Please grant me the grace and gifts I need,

If my heart has grown cold and indifferent towards you,

Renew my heart’s desire to serve you with all that I am,

Teach me to serve you with integrity,

And help me to stand firm amidst any challenges and temptations that I will face,

I pray that you would guard me against seeking to serve you for my own glory,

But help me to seek to glorify you through all that I say and do now,

Guard me against the temptation to fulfil my own goals and expectations in ministry,

But may your will be done through me,

Guard me against the temptation to compete with my brothers and sisters in Christ,

But teach me to work alongside them as we serve you in different ways,

Guard me against frustration and discouragement when things don’t go to plan,

But help me to trust in you to use my ministry for your purposes,

Guard me against my fears of what other people will think of me,

And convict me that only your praise is worth seeking after,

I pray that you would bear much fruit through my efforts today,

And may my ministry continue to be a pleasing sacrifice to you.
