Divided They Stood

Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others asked, “How can a sinner perform such signs?” So they were divided. John 9:16 NIV

Were the others who spoke about Christ’s signs also Pharisees, or others standing by where the former blind man was being questioned? I would tend to think it was not Pharisees. But, either way, those present were divided about Christ, His teachings, and His actions.

Today the story is no different. 2000 years after His presence on this earth there is still a division as to who Jesus Christ is and what should we do if anything about Him. Those of us who believe in Him and live our lives according to His will must continue to share the Good News and let Christ work on the hearts of those with whom we share. Don’t back away from doing your part.
