They brought to the Pharisees the man who had been blind. John 9:13 NIV

What were the intentions of those who brought the blind man before the Pharisees? Were the intentions with good in mind, showing the kindness of what Jesus had done for this man, or were they meant to bring the Pharisees in stronger resentment of Jesus? Although we are not told, as this would be judging their intentions, there are reasons to believe that the later is the case. The deed was done by Jesus on the Sabbath and in the eyes of the leaders was in direct contrast to what they believed God wanted. Also, those who went to the temple for worship were well aware of the Pharisees desire to excommunicate Jesus. Many of the people were under the influence of the Jewish leaders and thought it would put them in better standing with these leaders by them taking the action which they chose.

Never let your standing with man take priority over your relationship with Jesus Christ. He provides salvation and eternal life to you. What can mankind provide in comparison?
