"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” John 9:3 NIV

One thing that we can take away from this verse is that we should not judge a person and their actions based upon some misfortune that they face. We assuredly must be careful to not judge someone in this manner.

Our Lord told the disciples that there was no connection between sin of this man or his parents which led to the misfortune of him having been born blind. However, the work of God was to be made manifest through this man. Through Christ one is freed from spiritual blindness and enslavement to sin. If you have not done so already, lose your spiritual blindness through turning your life over to the Lord.
