Christians Never Die

While they were stoning him, Stephen appealed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Falling on his knees, he cried out in a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts 7:59-60 BSB

The New Testament never says a believer dies. Sin takes our temporary flesh, but we fall asleep. I believe we go directly to be with the Lord, and some think we wait until His return. Either way, our next conscious moment will be in His presence.

When we placed our faith in Christ's finished work, we stepped into eternity at that moment. God's peace and strength prevail for all who choose to focus on our guaranteed eternal life instead of today's temporary affliction.

For our light and momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that is far beyond comparison. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Cor 4:17-18 BSB

Some say the new normal is wearing masks and social distancing. For the believer in Christ, the new normal is being a new creation, a new heaven and earth, no suffering, no sin or pain, no tears, no fear of death, and a great inheritance we are fully qualified for in Christ. Selah.

Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. Col 1:12 BSB

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! 2 Cor 5:17 BSB

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. Rev 21:1 BSB

Our faith in our Father's promises pleases Him and rewards us greatly in this world and the new creation to come.

Therefore we are always confident, although we know that while we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor 5:6-7 BSB

Many more New Covenant Bible Studies HERE. Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross.

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.” Luke 22:20

"When we placed our faith in Christ's finished work, we stepped into eternity at that moment." This all inclusive statement, in those few words, captures our dual citizenship and place in Gods plan. Also a wonderful explanation and apologia upon the aspect of the believers state of existence after death, of abiding or waiting, and of the next conscious moment.
