Faith Does Not Make the Bible True

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith. 1 Cor 15:14 BSB

Paul states that our faith is worthless if it is untrue that Jesus rose from the dead.

For the disciples, faith was an action taken upon truth witnessed. Jesus gave them evidence with miracles and the resurrection, telling them to believe based on those if they had any doubt about His words.

Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me—or at least believe on account of the works themselves. John 14:11 BSB

For centuries, Christians have placed their faith in God's existence, Jesus's resurrection, and the Bible, because the evidence indicates they are true.

One hundred percent of the observable scientific evidence reveals that God must exist by necessity. There is no evidence that our universe can come into existence from nowhere by no cause, that life can come from non-life (abiogenesis), or that intelligence or our conscience can come from non-intelligence by accident, luck, chance, and time. Additionally, the historical evidence indicates that Jesus rose from the dead and is who He claimed to be, the Son of God.

Faith is essential to connect us to God's saving grace. However, sometimes we fall into the trap of placing our faith in our faith as though this saves us. "Do I have enough faith?" When the truth is, we only need a small amount of faith because the object of our faith is true. The evidence in the resurrected Christ destroyed doubt and helped the disciples defend the faith. It led them to realize how little faith it takes to believe and gave them great faith at the same time. Knowledge of the evidence will do the same for you.

Salvation is not about us. It is all about the truth of Jesus' finished work that protects and saves us just like the blood of the Passover lamb protected the Israelites in Egypt. Put the blood on and be saved, don't do it and be lost. An intimate knowledge that our faith's object is true releases God's power and peace in all our circumstances.

Encourage your faith, and learn to defend it, study the evidence.

Many more New Covenant Bible Studies HERE. Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross.

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.” Luke 22:20

I enjoy and prefer Michael's commentary and apologetic in that he cuts right through to core of the topic, in this case Salvation: God chose and provided the His plan, Jesus paid for it and the Holy Spirit draws people to it. There is no "we" in that statement of truth. "We" are beneficiaries of the shed blood of Jesus and there is no degree of difference in this greatest of all benefits bestowed upon believers irregardless of the amount of their faith.

Another great example of Michael's fresh teaching that makes people think.
