Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” John 6:52 NIV

The fact that the Jews started to sharply argue amongst themselves leads me to believe that some there did trust in Jesus. They must have realized there was a symbolism in what Christ was saying. On the opposite end of the spectrum are those who would not believe in Him no matter what He did so it was easy to take what He said literally. How can one talk about that which is Spirit without symbolism being involved? The Spiritual realm cannot be treated literally. One’s eyes and heart must be opened to see that which is spiritual. Open your eyes and heart. Let God’s Spirit dwell within you!
