Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. John 6:53 NIV

So, if we really want to have life we must know how to eat the flesh of the Son of Man and how to drink His blood.

So how do we eat the flesh of the Son of Man? Well, for one thing we can devour His word, the Bible. John 1:1 in part says that the Word was God. God is the final word sent by the heavenly Father. By reading scripture we stay attune to that which God desires from us. To also eat the body of the Son of Man we must be united in one body under His Lordship. We must love one another as Christ has loved us.

And what about drinking the blood of Christ? How do we do this? Christ shed His blood on the cross for us that we might receive salvation through Him and have eternal life in the presence of the Father and the Son. We must also be willing to sacrifice. We must sacrifice our desire for earthly gain that others may receive. We must focus on what is of God rather than what is of this earth. Christ and not things of this earth must have control over our hearts and how we live our lives.
