The Living Bread Is His Flesh

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” John 6:51 NIV

Jesus tells us that He is the living bread from heaven. Only living bread can provide life. Non-living bread can only provide temporary nutrition to the physical body. Living bread provides true life by awakening the soul. Living bread yields an eternity for the soul to the presence of God living within. The flesh of Jesus, through His sacrifice is the reminder to us of our need for a Savior. Salvation is only through Christ. We must invite Him into our hearts and accept the Holy Spirit as the Father’s offering to those who believe in the Son.

Eat the living bread that you might have true life eternally!

So true! He gives life.

I remember hearing of a problem that the Wycliffe Bible Translators faced. They needed to translate this passage for tribes involved in cannibalism.
