When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. John 6:16-17 NIV

So why did the disciples get into a boat to cross the sea at night? Obviously visibility is less at night than during the day. They did as they did because they were so directed to do so by the Lord. He knew what was forthcoming even though the disciples did not. It is nice to see that they did as they were so directed.

Do we do as we are directed by the Lord? Do we have any doubts and at times do things our own way? Do we not know that truly we shall receive the best blessings when we do that which we are directed to do by the guidance of the Holy Spirit? Trust in the One who knows all.
