Slipping Away From Our Thoughts

The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. John 5:13 NIV

Why had Jesus slipped away into the crowd? Quite possibly He did not wish to seek instant popularity for having healed the man, or wished to avoid the hatred of those upset with that which He did and said on the Sabbath. The man evidently had not heard much about Jesus, as he did not know that was the one who healed him.

Does Jesus too often slip away from our thoughts? Are we aware of Him just when we feel we need His presence? We always need Jesus in our lives! Jesus is who He says He is regardless of that which He does for us. He had saved us from eternal damnation. Yes, He wishes us to take our needs to Him, but He wishes a lasting, personal relationship with each of us, one in which He shares His word with us daily. Allow Jesus to be a part of your life each day!
